Effective Date: September 1, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Reczt mobile application and related services (“Reczt”). Reczt is operated by Leslie Kane (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using Reczt, or by tapping Agree & Continue when the Terms are presented in the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Reczt.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to recztsupport@gmail.com.
Reczt is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Reczt. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Reczt only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
Some third-party services available through Reczt, including Spotify, may impose their own minimum-age or account-eligibility requirements. You may use those features only if you are eligible under the applicable third-party terms.
Reczt is designed to help users identify songs by singing, humming, or recording audio and to provide links and related song information.
Reczt may also provide features such as:
Reczt is currently provided free of charge, with no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertisements.
Subject to these Terms and any applicable Apple license terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Reczt for lawful personal use.
You may not:
You retain any rights you may have in recordings of your own voice.
When you submit audio to Reczt, you authorize Reczt and its service providers to transmit, temporarily store, process, analyze, and transform that audio only as reasonably necessary to provide song recognition and related app functionality.
If you make a recording while offline, you also authorize Reczt to keep that recording locally on your device and to schedule a system-managed upload after connectivity becomes available. Once the upload reaches the backend, Reczt may process the recording even if the app is not in the foreground. Temporary backend audio files are designed to be deleted when the recognition request ends.
You should not use Reczt to submit passwords, financial information, health information, confidential conversations, or other sensitive information.
Offline processing depends on iOS background-transfer scheduling, internet connectivity, Reczt’s backend, and recognition providers. Delivery timing is not guaranteed.
If an offline recording is successfully recognized and you have allowed notifications, Reczt may ask iOS to display a local notification that includes the recognized song title and artist. You can control notification permissions in iOS Settings.
Force-quitting the app, device settings, operating-system resource decisions, network conditions, or third-party outages may delay or prevent a queued upload or notification.
Song recognition is probabilistic and may be incorrect.
Reczt may return the wrong song, fail to identify a song, provide incomplete metadata, or offer more than one possible match. The hands-free “first or second” feature and the stricter rules used for unattended offline recognition are intended to reduce incorrect automatic results but do not guarantee accuracy.
You are responsible for confirming any result before relying on it.
Reczt relies on or links to third-party services, which may include ACRCloud, Groq, Genius, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes/Apple services, Render, and Apple Speech Recognition.
Those services are operated by independent third parties and may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, account requirements, availability, rate limits, geographic restrictions, or fees imposed by those third parties.
Reczt is not Spotify, Apple, ACRCloud, Groq, Genius, or Render, and use of those names does not imply ownership, sponsorship, or endorsement except where expressly stated.
If you authorize Reczt to create a Spotify playlist, you authorize Reczt to use the permissions displayed by Spotify for that purpose. You remain responsible for your Spotify account and for compliance with Spotify’s terms.
Song names, artist names, album names, artwork, music-service branding, and other third-party content belong to their respective owners.
Reczt does not claim ownership of third-party music or artwork. Any third-party content displayed or linked through Reczt is provided for identification, navigation, or interoperability with the relevant music service.
Your use of Reczt is subject to the Reczt Privacy Policy, which explains how audio, offline uploads, location, local app data, and third-party services are handled.
By using Reczt, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy and consent to permission-based processing where consent is required by the operating system or applicable law.
If you obtain Reczt through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s applicable App Store terms and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply to your use of the app.
These Terms supplement, and do not replace, any mandatory rights or obligations that apply under Apple’s terms or applicable law.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update Reczt or any feature at any time.
Third-party APIs and services can change without notice, and a feature that depends on a third party may stop working or operate differently.
We do not guarantee that Reczt will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECZT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH DISCLAIMERS ARE NOT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LESLIE KANE AND RECZT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO RECZT OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES.
TO THE EXTENT LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO RECZT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE RECZT DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$50.
Because Reczt is currently free, the US$50 amount may apply where permitted by law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You are responsible for your use of Reczt and for complying with applicable laws and third-party terms.
You agree not to intentionally misuse the service or submit material in a manner that violates another person’s rights.
We may restrict or terminate access to Reczt if reasonably necessary to protect users, Reczt, third-party services, legal rights, or service security, or if these Terms are materially violated.
You may stop using Reczt at any time by deleting the app.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
Any dispute that is not subject to a mandatory alternative forum under applicable law may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in New York State.
We may update these Terms when Reczt changes or when legal or third-party requirements change.
If a change is material, we may provide notice in the app and require you to review or accept the updated Terms before continuing to use Reczt.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms, the Reczt Privacy Policy, and applicable Apple license terms constitute the agreement governing your use of Reczt, except where other mandatory terms apply.
